Jason Belton

Jason Belton is a dedicated public servant with a strong track record of advocating for labor rights, community empowerment, and social justice. He serves as the Vice President of the Greater Columbia Central Labor Council, where he works tirelessly to represent the interests of local unions and promote fair labor practices throughout South Carolina.

 

With over two years as the Operations Director for the South Carolina American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), Jason has been instrumental in strengthening the coalition of working individuals and advocating for policies that protect workers' rights. His commitment to public service extends to his role on the executive board, where he influences key decisions affecting labor in the region.

 

Since 2019, Jason has held the position of Chairman of Trustees for Loving Arms Ministries and Family Services, a 501(c)(3) organization committed to empowering families and providing essential support services in the community. His work with Loving Arms reflects his passion for helping marginalized groups and fostering resilience among families.

 

As an executive board member of the International General Assembly of Apostolic Believers Fellowship, Jason works to promote unity and collaboration within the faith community, further showcasing his dedication to bridging diverse populations for a greater good.

 

He is also the co-founder of Vision Walkers, an initiative that empowers marginalized and disenfranchised communities. Vision Walkers received a proclamation from the South Carolina Statehouse, recognizing its impactful work in promoting equity and inclusion in the state.

 

As the Crisis Director for the South Carolina National Action Network and an executive board member of Justice 360, Jason is deeply involved in civil rights advocacy. He represents the Richland County branch, focusing on strategies that address systemic inequalities and injustices.

 

In addition to his advocacy work, Jason is an entrepreneur. He is the co-owner and operations manager of a family business, Belton Does It Best, and serves as the financial officer for C&J Consulting LLC, a political consulting firm that provides strategic advice to candidates and organizations.

 

Jason also led the SC Statehouse Legislative Progressive Caucus as the Executive Director, Jason stands at the forefront of legislative initiatives aimed at pushing progressive policies and promoting social justice across South Carolina.

 

With a proven track record in leadership, advocacy, and community engagement, Jason Belton is committed to serving the people of South Carolina as Secretary of State, where he aims to enhance democratic participation and ensure fair electoral processes.
